Referral is not working, need help please

I have a 28 day quest that requires me to refer a friend and get to arena 2. I cannot get the referral to work for the life of me. I tried emailing the link and I’ve tried sending it via messenger. It just will not recognize that I have referred that person. Obviously I’m doing something wrong so if anyone could give me some tips on how to do this I would appreciate it.

Your referred friend has to connect to facebook within a week from installing and using your code, otherwise it wont work.
