Part 4 - Minions - Info & Tips

Minions are creatures from within the Heroic Universe that are used to deal damage to opponents’ Minions, Portals and enemy Bosses. Each Minion has their own special feature and role in battle, so make sure to read each Minion description to figure out how to best use them.

There are 5 rarities when it comes to Minion cards:

  • Common
  • Rare
  • Epic
  • Legendary
  • Mythic

Each Minion belongs to one of the 3 Worlds:

  • Arcana
  • Void
  • Realm

Descriptions, Mana Costs and Tips for each Minion are listed below by World and Mana cost:

ARCANA MINIONS

Revenant - Legendary Card

  • Summoning this ancient warrior will consume all of your available mana, his health and damage determined by the amount of mana spent.

Mana - 1
World - Arcana

Tip: You’ll get a 3 mana stronger Revenant if you combine Rhii’s Power Spell with Revenant. Mana Wraith, on the other hand, increases Revenant’s cost without buff him, so that’s a combo you might want to avoid. Making the largest Revenant possible might not be the best idea - remember that you can always draw a card for 5 mana if you are out of them. Optimize by summoning a Revenant of just the right size you need for your current board situation!

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition… armed with arcane lasers.

Swordsman - Common Card

  • A fierce warrior ready to do battle.

Mana - 2
World - Arcana

Tip: The best bang for your buck. A 2 mana card that has decent health and damage. A staple in all decks!

A cut above the rest

Wisp Mother - Epic Card

  • Mother sends out a healing wisp to the closest ally. Wisp returns if the unit being healed dies.

Mana - 2
World - Arcana

Tip: Use with either high damage or high HP Minions and watch as they struggle to kill them.

Mother knows best

Archers - Common Card

  • Spawns 3 archers.

Mana - 3
World - Arcana

Tip: The first range Card you get. Good against those pesky swordsmen.

Legolas would be proud

Magic Construct - Epic Card

  • Once spawned, every time new friendly Minions are summoned, Magic Construct increases his health and damage.

Mana - 3
World - Arcana

Tip: Magic Construct knows no bounds, play him with low cost cards to buff his health and damage faster!

He causes a lot of bugs for us. We hope you enjoy using him.

Reflector - Rare Card

  • Armed with mirror shield that reflects 50% of enemy ranged attacks.

Mana - 3
World - Arcana

Tip: Great vs ranged projectile units (Amazon, Marksman, Primal Spirit)

“Always keeps the mirror shield facing out so he doesn’t see his face”

Blade Dancer - Common Card

  • Skilled and fast, Blade Dancer dices her enemies to pieces using swift double attacks.

Mana - 3
World - Arcana

Tip: Can stand her ground versus swarm units like Rolling Rocks and Undead Horde thanks to her double attacks. Double attacks also help her get rid of the Valen’s Holy Shield quickly. Her speed allows her to close the gap on ranged units and give you minion-spawning territory close to the enemy for agressive decks.

She makes her own smoothies and a perfect salsa.

Rune Cannon - Legendary Card

  • A weapon built only to devastate the stronghold of his enemies.

Mana - 3
World - Arcana

Tip: Doesn’t attack enemy Minions, only targets Portals! Make sure he’s not in harms way.

One track mind type of guy

Commander - Rare Card

  • A radiant leader who gathers all friendly Minions to her lane and rallies forward.

Mana - 4
World - Arcana

Tip: A trump card. Use it wisely to completely evade enemy Minions and stack yours in one lane. Beware of enemy AOE spells. Best used with Fury and Fearless Leader!

A glorified shepherd.

Charger - Epic Card

  • After a brief delay, Charger runs wild to the first enemy dealing extra damage.

Mana - 5
World - Arcana

Tip: Can quickly get to those pesky ranged units and destroy them with 1 blow.

Has a perpetual concussion since 1992

Silver Ranger - Rare Card

  • A masterful marksman with an arcane bow.

Mana - 5
World - Arcana

Tip: Counters Amazon and Nature Guardian :astonished:

What do you call a Mexican bow? An elbow.

Phase Assassin - Legendary Card

  • Untouchable until she strikes her first blow. Then she becomes vulnerable.

Mana - 5
World - Arcana

Tip: Guaranteed huge damage to the first enemy Minion she hits!

Invented the expression, first come, first served.

Mana Wraith - Legendary Card

  • A mystical force with great power that comes with a cost. Friendly Minions cost 2 extra Mana while he is alive.

Mana - 5

Tip: A trump card. Can 1v1 most units. Keep alive if you think you can win quickly.

A double-edged sword that looks like a pile of mud.

World - Arcana

Tip: Apply to a problem. Problem Solved

*Don’t you know who I am? I’m the Juggernaut!” *

REALM MINIONS

Mana - 4
World - Realm

Tip: He moves slow but use that to your advantage. Have him slowly push the lane into your favor.

Small in stature but big where it counts

Fearless Leader - Epic Card

  • Once spawned, inspires your Minions to attack by increasing their damage and movement speed.

Mana - 4
World - Realm

Tip: His primal shout + fury can be a dangerous combo.

He’s shouting because he constantly thinks he’s being eaten by a tiger.

Trinity - Legendary Card

  • A mystical sorceress who summons replicas of herself in other lanes to confuse enemies. If any of the replicas dies, they all die.

Mana - 4
World - Realm

Tip: Try not to dwell on the fact that if a replica dies they all die. They are all very strong and in each lane!

What does Trinity the Magician do when she’s angry? Pull out her hare

Crow - Epic Card

  • Crow darts away every time she is attacked as she rains razor feathers on her foes.

Mana - 4
World - Realm

Tip: Try to give your Crow enough retreating territory so that she can deliver special attacks as she tubmles back - once she is up against a wall, she can no longer tumble. Use her against units that deal low damage per hit, especially melee minions - so that her special tumble damage procs more often. She is pretty good against Blade dancer, as she tumbles back before the Blade Dancer can land her second hit. She is also great at annoying your enemy’s Executioner :). Also, she does pretty well against Nature Guardian, as can retaliate from a very long range in case lightning damage caught her through other units.

Don’t call her a Wildling. Don’t be that person.

Immortal Knight - Legendary Card

  • Channels immortality right before death, becoming invulnerable for a few seconds.

Tip: Completely stops a huge push.

I do believe in pixies! I do! I do! …You’re welcome

Crystal Colossus - Rare Card

  • Pushes enemies away while lumbering onward. Sacrifices himself to deliver a deadly payload to the enemy portal.

Mana - 5
World - Realm

Tip: Colossus is very tanky, use him as a shield with ranged units with strong attacks to clear the lane easily. While Colossus is marching and pushing enemy units, he’s one step ahead of his melee allies receiving all the damage. How cool is that? Wait for your Colossus to slowly collect enemy units into one small bunch, then demolish them with an area damage spell, Amazon or Hellfiend. In addition to being a tank, Crystal Colossus is a formidable siege weapon. With proper buffs, he can deal absurd damage to the enemy portal. Try to think of all the ways you can buff him and keep him alive until he reaches his target.

Anybody bring the harpoons and tow cables?

Amazon - Epic Card

  • Throws enchanted spears that pierce through Minions hitting all enemies in their path.

Mana - 6
World - Realm

Nature Guardian - Legendary Card

  • Armed with an elemental staff that deals electric stun attacks that bounce to every enemy Minion in lane. Damage is distributed per Minion.

Mana - 6
World - Realm

Tip: Best used when you have breathing room. Use Nature Guardian to keep up the pressure with his multiple hit shock/stun attacks.

Puts Gandalf’s staff to shame

Queen Oba - Mythic Card

  • Attacks to charge her power. Once fully charged, she summons her Horror, damaging and stunning enemies around it.

Mana - 6

World - Realm

Tip: When summoning Queen Oba, make sure she’s at a safe distance from her lane opponents so that she has time to attack 4 times and charge up. When fully charged, her Horror spawns in front of her dealing area damage and stunning enemies around it. If her Horror is already summoned, it repeats area damage and stun instead when Queen Oba collects another 4 charges. For a devastating combo, combine her with tanky units or other stuns like Frost Imp, Chilling Wind, or Valen hammers. That way you’ll buy her time to summon her Horror and maximize her damage.

Third time’s the charm. Fourth time’s a Queen Oba nightmare.

Devourer - Epic Card

  • Consumes the closest enemy Minion it comes into contact and digests it. While digesting, Devourer is slowed. If killed during digestion, enemy is freed.

A frog prince. Who wants to give him a kiss?

Mountain Giant - Rare Card

  • This giant carries a bunch of Rolling Rocks ready to jump into battle every time he takes damage.

Mana - 7
World - Realm

Tip: Use him against units with small damage to take advantage of his special ability that creates rolling rocks every time he takes damage!

A rock in every bite!

Stone Elemental - Epic Card

  • A slow moving behemoth. Once defeated, he splits into 3 smaller versions of himself. One in each lane.

Mana - 8
World - Realm

Tip: One of the tankiest minions, then when you kill him he splits into 3 smaller copies. Incredible at stopping a push.

It’s a hard rock life

Fire Witch - Legendary Card

  • A powerful witch well versed in the art of pyromancy. She summons a meteor shower to crush all enemies after a few seconds.

I would make a pun about his clones, but he would just copy it.

Punisher - Legendary Card

  • A bloodthirsty demon who gets stronger after each Minion he kills.

Mana - 3
World - Void

Tip: Make sure he kills enemies!

The crystal shard in his back gets bigger when he’s excited…for battle.

Reaper - Rare Card

  • Attack multiple enemies at once with Reaper’s scythe.

Mana - 4
World - Void

Tip: Great at already killing the dead (Undead Horde/Army)

Bone Appétit!

Valkyrie - Rare Card

  • Unafraid of death, Valkyrie jumps into battle wielding a devasting sword but light armor.

Mana - 4

Being a Valkyrie is tough. Everyone is dying to meet you!

Viper - Rare Card

  • Equipped with a venomous blade that poisons enemies.

Mana - 4

Link

Soul Leech - Legendary Card

  • This demonic priestess slowly snakes through the battlefield, harvesting souls of fallen allies to heal and empower herself.

Mana - 4
World - Void

Tip: Cast her in the back so she has time to gather all the souls from your minions. Pair her with swarm units (and in a different lane too), so that she can be insurance in case your enemy finds a way to counter. There is one other evil minion who likes to steal from swarm minions as well, I’m wondering who that is? Sounds like the two of them could be best buddies.

Will leech souls, but won’t leech your Netflix password or not pay rent.

Executioner - Rare Card

  • Born to kill, Executioner pulls in enemies towards him to deliver strong cleave attacks.

Mana - 5
World - Void

Tip: Use it to round up all enemies in a lane and send them into the arms of Executioner where his cleave attacks should make quick work of them. Just make sure you take advantage of the stun too!

Just wants a hug

Bloodstalker - Legendary Card

  • Steals a portion of health from all friendly units to buff up his health and damage.

Mana - 5
World - Void

Tip: The Bloodstalker thirsts for blood. Make sure to play him when you have Minions on the battlefield to increase his strength.

Don’t ask us how he steals blood from an Undead Horde.

Hellfiend - Legendary Card

  • Tears open the ground to summon Hellfiend dealing heavy damage around him.

Mana - 6
World - Void

Tip: He can be spawned anywhere on the battlefield. Even right next to your enemy’s Portal!

Hellfiend is soular powered

Anubis - Epic Card

  • Passively spawns undead footsoldiers in his lane every few seconds.

Mana - 6
World - Void

Tip: A solid mid game card with ranged attack and a bone shield to protect him.

Speaks only in hieroglyphics

Undead Raid - Common Card

  • Spawns 15 skeletons spawned randomly across your half of the battlefield.

Mana - 7
World - Void

Tip: 15 Skeletons + Bloodstalker = trouble.

UNDEADMAGEDDON

Lord Sumrak - Mythic Card

  • Attacks enemies to charge his power. Once fully charged, he lifts enemies in his lane and slams them into the ground, damaging and stunning them.

Mana - 7
World - Void

Tip: Lord Sumrak’s ability is strong enough to kill a Silver Ranger of equal level (or even one level lower), track for lanes where enemy has weak minions in front that allow him to charge up so that he can get rid of the ones in the back! Lord Sumrak’s ability affects the whole lane, even minions that are behind him, so he is great at countering Mountain Giant, he can clean up the pesky Rolling Rocks that jump over his head and attack your portal. Lord Sumrak is great when used with other stuns, like Frost Imp, or Valen hammers. They can help him charge up his ability safely. Pixie sleeping a full lane and then sending Lord Sumrak can be a devastating combo. Lord Sumrak hiding behind a Crystal Colossus can wreak havoc. He is even good at countering the enemy that is using the same strategy, to kill all the archers that think they are safe when hiding behind a tank!

Strong people don’t put others down. They lift them up.

Undead Army - Common Card

The King of Bones, take a knee peasant!

Abomination - Epic Card

  • A repugnant monster with overwhelmingly powerful strikes.

Mana - 12
World - Void

Tip: A late game Minion with high health and single target damage. Susceptible to range attacks and stuns.
